I receive emails from Joyce Meyer on a regular basis. A couple of days ago, I received one that contained one of her teachings on Power Thoughts. So I am listening and making notes and she says something that is profound to me, even though I know I have heard it a gazillion times in my life: “Trust God for each day. Don’t spend all of your time trying to figure the future out. Just acknowledge Him everyday and trust Him for the strength and everything else you need for that day.” Of course, this is just paraphrasing what she said, but in that moment, I had, I guess, an epiphany of sorts, where her words truly penetrated my spirit and I accepted it, and I had peace. And when that happened, it seemed God sent me reminders of His love and acceptance and grace and mercy. So this morning when I was walking, I was just thinking about the last few days and being thankful for allowing myself to receive what has always been there – peace…..and the ability to trust God, one day at a time. Just for today, I have the peace in knowing that I don’t have to figure anything out, that He has it figured out for me. All I have to do is live, and have faith, just for today…..
